USSSA 2-pitch tournament
Rules/Notes
All teams must stick to their league roster or have it approved by me. If there are any changes to your league roster you need to notify me for an approval. Teams should text me with the first/last names of their proposed roster to avoid any problems. If a player has never played in the league or on your team, they cannot just show up without approval of Tournament Director.
Games are "2-Pitch" format. When the batter gets in the box, the count is 2 balls, 2 strikes, with a courtesy foul. Two balls you walk. Two foul balls you are out. Any ONE called strike or swing and a miss strike you are out.
Plate and mat strike zone for the 2-Pitch tournament. The arc for the day is 5 to 10 feet since the plate is a strike.
The games are designed for 50-55 minutes. When the clock hits 45 minutes, the umpire will announce 45 minutes. You finish the inning you are in, and you play one more inning. We need to keep games moving, it's designed for a fun warmup type event finishing on time.
You can tie in pool play, in single elimination if it's tied you finish. There is no special rule for extra innings.
Home Run limit on any field is four home runs over the fence and then just outs. Most of the field is unfenced.
Balls are provided but you must retrieve home run and foul balls.
The tiebreaker after pool play if two teams tied is head to head, the next is total runs given up. If still tied, total run differential plus/minus (max 12 in any game)
Run rule is 12 after 4 innings straight thru. Flip-flop is in effect.
Two courtesy runners are permitted per inning. Last recorded out. If the batter spot comes up, you can put another runner on base so there is no out. You can burn both runners at one time.
The entry fee includes all costs for the day and the winner will get a prize. $200 is the entry fee. Cash, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Check are all options.
Proper sportsmanship is expected of all players and coaches.
